Seoul, en.SERU.co.id — THEBLACKLABEL, the music label founded by producer Teddy Park, has raised around $80 million in its Series B funding round. The investment was led by Tencent Music Entertainment Group and Korean gaming giant Krafton.

The deal values the company at approximately $680–700 million post-money, marking a strong vote of confidence from major players in both music and gaming.

According to reports, existing investor Saehan Ventures also joined the round. The funding comes at a time when THEBLACKLABEL is riding high on the global success of the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, for which the studio produced the soundtrack.

That OST delivered several standout tracks, including “Golden,” that climbed international charts and helped boost the company’s profile far beyond Korea.

THEBLACKLABEL started as a creative unit under YG Entertainment before gaining more independence. Today it represents a solid roster that includes BLACKPINK’s Rosé, BIGBANG’s Taeyang, Jeon Somi, actor Park Bo-gum, rising girl group MEOVV, and the ALLDAY PROJECT.

“This Series B funding will serve as a powerful stepping stone for THEBLACKLABEL to leap into a comprehensive entertainment company leading the global market by strengthening our existing capabilities,” said Jung Kyung-in, CEO of THEBLACKLABEL, said in a statement, according to Bloomberg.

The fresh capital is expected to support global expansion, artist development, and more cross-industry projects — especially in music, film, and gaming. The partnership with Tencent Music should strengthen its reach in China, while the Krafton tie-up opens doors for potential IP collaborations.

It’s another sign that Korean entertainment companies are attracting serious international money as the lines between music, streaming, and gaming continue to blur.

THEBLACKLABEL has not yet commented publicly on future plans like an IPO, but this latest valuation clearly positions the company among the heavier hitters outside the traditional Big Four agencies.
