Los Angeles, en.SERU.co.id — ENHYPEN’s first No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 was accompanied by an extensive fan-organized campaign focused on physical album purchases, digital sales and streaming during the chart’s tracking week.

The group’s eighth mini album, THE SIN BLISS, topped the Billboard 200 dated September 5 with 98,000 equivalent album units in the United States. According to Luminate data reported by Billboard, traditional album sales accounted for 92,000 units, while streaming equivalent albums contributed about 6,000 units.

Much of the fan activity centered on understanding which purchases and streams would count toward Billboard’s chart calculations.

Fans Organize Purchases Across Multiple Retailers

In the weeks surrounding the album’s release, ENHYPEN fan accounts circulated guides explaining Billboard-eligible purchases and streaming practices.

One prominent fanbase account encouraged supporters to purchase complete digital albums rather than individual tracks and outlined the rules used to calculate album-equivalent units. Fans were also encouraged to purchase physical versions from different retailers, including Target, Barnes & Noble, Walmart and Weverse USA.

The campaign reflected the highly organized approach commonly seen among K-pop fandoms during major chart releases. Fans used social media to share purchasing information, coordinate streaming sessions and monitor progress toward self-set targets.

Some fan-organized buying events were held through Stationhead, where participants reported reaching various sales milestones. Fan groups also coordinated funds for digital purchases, while noting Billboard’s limit on the number of digital album purchases that can be counted from an individual account.

Streaming Efforts Complement Album Sales

Streaming was another part of the campaign. Fanbases established daily targets and encouraged supporters to stream the album throughout the tracking period.

ENHYPEN also participated in an official Spotify Listening Party on release day, giving fans an opportunity to interact with the members while listening to the album.

Despite the coordinated streaming activity, physical purchases remained the dominant component of the album’s Billboard performance. Billboard reported approximately 6,000 streaming equivalent album units compared with 92,000 traditional album sales.

The album’s physical editions also played a role. THE SIN BLISS was released in more than 30 CD and vinyl variants, with collectible items such as photocards, stickers and posters included in various editions.

A Closer Look at K-pop Chart Culture

The campaign highlights the increasingly organized role of K-pop fandoms in supporting album releases. Rather than simply purchasing music individually, fans often coordinate their efforts around specific chart periods and share information about purchasing and streaming rules.

For ENHYPEN, those efforts coincided with the group’s strongest Billboard 200 performance to date. THE SIN BLISS also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart.

The group’s Billboard 200 result ultimately became its first No. 1 since debuting in 2020, but the coordinated activity surrounding the release offers another perspective on how modern K-pop fandoms mobilize around major chart campaigns.
