Los Angeles, en.SERU.co.id — Miley Cyrus is dropping her surname from her stage name and will now be known professionally simply as Miley. The change comes alongside the announcement of her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, which is scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, through Atlantic Records.

A September 1 press release from Atlantic Records referred to her as “Multi-platinum global superstar Miley” without using the surname, Cyrus. The label also announced that she will perform two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and October 18.

The name change became noticeable in late August, when her Instagram account and official website began displaying only “Miley.” On August 31, she also shared a red-filtered close-up photo captioned simply, “MILEY.”

New Album and Hollywood Bowl Shows

In an Instagram post announcing Bass Persuades, Miley explained the meaning behind the album title:

“Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me. Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”

Bass Persuades will be Miley’s first album released through Atlantic Records after her departure from Columbia Records. The project follows her 2025 album Something Beautiful.

In a July 2026 interview with Wonderland magazine, she described the new project as “a love story, but love stories are never one-dimensional. They’re always layered.”

The announcement also came shortly after the death of Miley’s godmother, Dolly Parton, who died on August 25 at the age of 80. In a tribute, Miley wrote:

“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private, and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts. What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. I will always love her and want to make her proud.”

Tickets for Miley’s Hollywood Bowl shows will be available through an American Express presale on September 8, followed by an artist presale on September 9 and general sale on September 10.

The change applies to her professional stage name. Her legal name remains Miley Ray Cyrus, which she adopted in 2008.
