“Cooking oil is an essential commodity, especially for MSME players in the culinary and frying sectors,” Eko said on Monday (18/5/2026). “With Pomindo, people can buy oil according to their actual needs and financial capacity.”

He highlighted the depot’s flexible purchasing system as its main attraction, allowing customers to buy any amount they want. Its strategic location in the middle of a residential area also makes it convenient for both residents and small business owners.

Eko added that the management plans to intensify marketing efforts to increase public awareness. He noted that the price remains very competitive at around Rp22,000 per liter.

First Depot in Malang Raya

Yaya Sumantri, President Director of PT Parabu, explained that the Malang depot is the first Pomindo facility in the Malang Raya region. Nationally, Pomindo already operates 252 depots across various cities and regencies in Indonesia.

“Our target is to have one depot per electoral district, and one outlet per village (kelurahan),” Yaya said.

He added that Pomindo outlets can partner with various entities, including Koperasi Merah Putih, village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), Islamic boarding schools, schools, and individuals.

The company offers premium-quality bulk cooking oil from major producers such as Sinar Mas, Wilmar, Mahesa, and Pelindo. Unlike subsidized oil, there is no Highest Retail Price (HET) regulation, yet the quality matches well-known branded products on the market.

“What makes us different is that people are not forced to buy in one-liter packages. They can purchase as little as they need — even Rp2,000 or Rp5,000 worth,” Yaya explained.

He emphasized that all oil measurements at the depot have been officially verified by the Malang City Metrology Legal agency, ensuring customers receive accurate quantities. (bas/ono)
