Georgia, en.SERU.co.id — Peabo Bryson, the two-time Grammy-winning singer famous for his smooth romantic ballads, has died. He was 75.
Bryson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET in Marietta, Georgia. According to his family, he had suffered a stroke just days earlier.
In a statement, his family said:
“With broken hearts and profound sadness, the family of two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer, Peabo Bryson, announces his passing. He transitioned peacefully at 5:00 p.m. ET on the evening of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those closest to him.”
Born Robert Peapo Bryson on April 13, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, Bryson built a career spanning more than five decades. He earned the nickname “The Voice of Love” thanks to his warm baritone and heartfelt love songs.

He’s best remembered for his iconic Disney duets: “Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle from Aladdin, which became the first song from an animated Disney film to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other popular collaborations include “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love” with Roberta Flack.
Bryson won two Grammy Awards and was widely admired for his ability to deliver emotional, wedding-ready ballads that resonated with generations of fans.
