Swift broke the news herself on Instagram, writing:

“It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠
You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and @pixar’s @toystory 5 will be yours on June 5th. I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?
You can pre-order now exclusively on my site and catch Toy Story 5 in theaters June 19th ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️”

She co-wrote and produced the song with her longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff. According to Disney, the track has a country vibe and is tied to the character Jessie.

The announcement ends months of fan theories fueled by mysterious billboards, a countdown on her website, and other subtle hints. There had even been some confusion after the director seemed to say Swift wasn’t doing the end credits song, but it turns out she was still creating this separate original piece.

For Swift, this feels like a full-circle moment. She’s been a Toy Story fan since she was a little girl.

The song is already available for pre-order as a collector’s edition CD on her official website.
