Malang, en.SERU.co.id – An intimate concert by Sylvia Saartje, a legendary Indonesian rock musician, will present 10 songs and also launch her latest single “I Remember” in Malang. The performance marking the 70th year of the rock music legend will take place at Dewa 19 Lounge, Alana Hotel Malang, on Saturday (19/9/2026).
Senior rocker Sylvia Saartje admitted that in this appearance she is presenting a new single titled “I Remember,” created from the spontaneous creativity of Malang musicians. The First Lady of Indonesian Rock crafted the new lyrics in only three minutes after chatting with Nurman Duarte C4 for three hours. The composition of this newest rock song has been adjusted to a sweet rock nuance that is highly relevant to current music style developments.
“I wrote the lyric text, and Nurman — the concert conductor — arranged the music. My presence in this performance is expected to bring blessings to all rock music listeners,” said Jipi, the familiar nickname of the woman born on 15 September 1956.
According to the legendary singer known for the song “Biarawati,” the positive energy of togetherness greatly determines the smooth running of the entire performance process. She feels grateful for the strong support from various parties in the Intimate Concert, one of them being Soendari Batik and Art, which initiated the concert.
Concert initiator Satrya Paramanandana from Soendari Batik and Art said the performance was designed as the highest form of respect for Sylvia Saartje’s dedication at the age of 70, or 58 years of contribution to the Indonesian rock music scene.
“The concept is more toward an intimate concert, collaborating with Iksan Skuter, Kidnep Flanella, and Elisabeth Natalia. We want to become a bridge across generations, from Bu Jipi’s generation to the current generation. The hope is that this event can bring various generations together through music,” Satrya explained.

In this intimate concert, the organizers are collaborating with musician and composer Norman Duarte C4, who has been trusted to rework the 9–10 songs that will be performed. Even several legendary songs, including the hit “Jakarta Blue Jeansku,” will be presented in new arrangements.
Technical committee member Isa Aprilia added that the organizers are not selling performance tickets but instead providing exclusive souvenir packages for visitors. The merchandise bundling offers are divided into three category options:
- Silver Package Rp300,000
- Gold Package Rp500,000
- Platinum Package Rp1,000,000
“The quota for these commemorative seating packages now has only 25 seats remaining from a total capacity of 50 spectators,” explained Ica, as she is commonly called.
In addition to the main concert by the maestro, the venue will also present an exhibition of memorabilia from Sylvia Saartje’s vocal arts career journey. These include accessories worn during performances, a guitar, jackets, and other items.
“The committee hopes this performance moment will become the first step toward the production of an album featuring both old and newest songs by Mbak Jipi,” she concluded. (ws15/rhd)
