Malang, en.SERU.co.id – Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has officially turned 25,000 electric bikes into State-Owned Assets (BMN). The government is now considering distributing a portion of them to support frontline workers in hard-to-reach areas.
Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono said the plan is still in the proposal stage. The idea is to use the bikes to boost mobility and efficiency for field officers.
“Yes, we have these 25,000 electric bikes that have become state property. We plan to distribute them to several parties,” Sudaryono explained.
The proposed recipients include honorary teachers in remote regions, agricultural extension officers, and marine and fisheries extension workers. The bikes would help them carry out their duties more effectively in areas difficult to access by car.

Originally, the electric bikes were procured by BGN to support the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG). They were intended as operational vehicles for heads and staff of the Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) to reach isolated villages where four-wheeled vehicles struggle.
The total procurement value reached Rp1 trillion, with each unit budgeted at approximately Rp42 million. (wul/ono)
