Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – The name of General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has emerged in a case of alleged illegal wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto’s phone number. The initials LSP are mentioned as one of three senior National Police officers named as suspects in the matter. The three are alleged to have ordered wiretapping without legal procedures as well as deleted electronic data to eliminate traces.
Head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), Commissioner General Asep Safrudin, said the three suspects each have the initials LSP, ASN, and EH. The three have been detained at the National Police Headquarters Detention Center to undergo further investigation processes.
“Meanwhile one other person with the initials SU is still undergoing examination with the status of a witness,” said Asep, as quoted from Kompas.com on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Asep explained that the alleged illegal wiretapping took place in the 2025-2026 period. The suspects are alleged to have ordered the wiretapping of a number of phone numbers without following official procedures. Even not related to law enforcement interests.
The modus used was inserting a number of phone numbers into the Lawful Interception Management System (LIMS). Without going through a verification process and without being equipped with legal documents. Such as police reports or investigation or inquiry warrant letters.
“The suspects ordered wiretapping without any connection to law enforcement. Then deleted the log traces to eliminate those traces,” said Asep in a press conference.
Investigators revealed that one of the phone numbers that became the target of the illegal wiretapping belonged to President Prabowo Subianto. In addition, the wiretapping is alleged to have targeted phone numbers of state officials, political figures, media people, mass organization figures. Even non-governmental organizations (NGOs) up to business circles.
In October 2026, the suspects are also alleged to have ordered the deletion of electronic data. As well as recordings of wiretapping activities from the system to eliminate digital traces.
In the process of investigating this case, Bareskrim Polri has examined 10 witnesses and three experts. Investigators also seized a number of electronic evidence items consisting of 11 mobile phone units, one iPad unit, and four flash drives.

Asep emphasized that wiretapping activities should be carried out based on applicable legal provisions. That includes the principles of human rights (HAM) protection, legality, and legal certainty. As regulated in National Police Chief Regulation Number 5 of 2010 concerning Procedures for Wiretapping at the Monitoring Center of the Indonesian National Police.
On the other hand, Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that his institution is committed to taking firm action against every form of legal violation. Including those involving members of the police themselves.
“Strengthening public trust must always begin from a clean and integrity police institution,” said Johnny.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, confirmed the existence of the detention of those three police officers.
Yusril said the legal process must still pay attention to the rights of the suspects according to the provisions of the applicable Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
When asked regarding the identity of LSP linked to the former National Police Chief, Yusril did not mention the name directly. He only confirmed that the suspect is an active police general.
