Malang, en.SERU.co.id — Following the success of last year’s Wonorejo Run Challenge, Perum Jasa Tirta I (PJT I) is back with the Selorejo Run Challenge (SRC) 2026, a scenic trail running event set against the stunning backdrop of Waduk Selorejo in Ngantang, Malang Regency.
The event carries the theme “Run with View,” inviting participants to enjoy breathtaking scenery while running through the reservoir area. According to Ivania Aestrianingsih, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at PJT I, the race reflects the company’s commitment to promoting nature-based sports that blend exercise, tourism, environmental awareness, and education on protecting water resources.
“Selorejo Run Challenge 2026 is designed as a platform for sport, education, and a shared campaign to preserve aquatic ecosystems. Through the ‘Run with View’ concept and our slogan JEJAK: Jaga Ekosistem, Jaga Air Kita (Protect the Ecosystem, Protect Our Water), we want runners to experience the beauty of Waduk Selorejo while understanding its vital role in sustaining water resources,” Vania said.
Sport Tourism with Purpose

PJT I hopes SRC 2026 will boost visitor numbers to its managed reservoir areas and position them as educational tourism destinations that highlight sport, nature, and community spirit. The organization believes that protecting water resources requires ongoing collaboration between government, businesses, communities, and the public.
As a thank you to participants and their families, PJT I is offering up to 20% discounts on accommodation and other facilities at Bendungan Selorejo (terms and conditions apply).

“Runners will pass through mountain panoramas, reservoir views, plantations, and forest trails that define this region,” he added, accompanied by event organizer representative Yan Christanto.
The “Run with View” concept promises more than just a scenic run; it includes a variety of challenging surfaces. Participants will tackle footpaths, forest trails, and even river crossings, but will avoid protocol roads to prevent traffic disruption.
Yan emphasized the importance of wearing proper trail shoes for the mixed terrain.
Through this event, PJT I encourages participants to embrace an active, healthy lifestyle while strengthening their commitment to environmental conservation and the sustainable management of water resources. (rhd)
