A representative from Varo Entertainment confirmed the meeting but kept things low-key.

“It is true that we met with Jeongyeon. However, nothing has been finalized regarding an exclusive contract,” the official said.

JYP Entertainment also weighed in briefly. The company said TWICE is currently in the middle of contract renewal discussions.

“We are proceeding with careful deliberations while respecting the mutual intentions of the members. We will provide updates once a decision is made,” a JYP rep told media outlets.

This news comes as the group which already renewed contracts back in 2022, navigates another round of talks. Fans have noted that Jeongyeon has shown more interest in acting lately, similar to how other members like Dahyun have taken on drama roles while staying with TWICE.

For now, there’s no indication she’s leaving the group. Everything is still in the early discussion stage, and TWICE just wrapped up a major world tour with all nine members intact. ONCEs will likely be watching closely for any future updates.
