Seoul, en.SERU.co.id — South Korean celebrity couple Choi Soo-young (Sooyoung) of Girls’ Generation (SNSD) and actor Jung Kyung-ho have ended their 14-year relationship. Their respective agencies confirmed the news on Tuesday (9/6/2026).
The couple first met around 2012 through church friends while attending Chung-Ang University. They went public with their romance in January 2014 and quickly became one of K-entertainment’s most stable and low-key pairs. Fans often saw them as the gold standard for celebrity couples, together for over a decade with barely any drama.
According to reports, their busy schedules eventually pulled them in different directions. Sooyoung has been juggling music, acting, and international projects, while Jung Kyung-ho has stayed active with back-to-back dramas. They reportedly grew apart and decided it was best to part ways.
Sooyoung’s agency, Saram Entertainment, said:
“It is true that they have broken up. They have decided to remain good colleagues.”
Jung Kyung-ho’s agency, Management Alum (also referred to as Management Oreum in some reports), gave a similar confirmation.
The first signs popped up when fans noticed the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking breakup rumors that were quickly followed by official statements.

Many fans were caught off guard, with some joking that “my parents broke up.” Others expressed appreciation for how quietly and respectfully the couple had handled their long relationship. As of now, neither Sooyoung nor Jung Kyung-ho has shared a personal statement.
Both are expected to focus on their careers moving forward. Sooyoung continues her work in entertainment, while Jung Kyung-ho has ongoing drama projects.
