Los Angeles, en.SERU.co.id — Paramount Pictures is developing a sequel to the 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, with original star Kate Hudson attached as a producer and the studio hoping to reunite Hudson with Matthew McConaughey.
According to Variety, which first reported the news on August 24, 2026, the project is still in the early stages of development. Several key creative positions, including the screenwriter, have yet to be filled, and casting decisions will depend on the direction of the script.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Hudson will produce the sequel alongside Stacey Sher through Sher’s Shiny Penny Productions. Deadline also reported that the filmmakers and studio hope Hudson and McConaughey will reprise their roles as Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry, although neither actor has been officially confirmed to return.

Directed by Donald Petrie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was released on February 7, 2003. The film follows magazine writer Andie Anderson, who sets out to write an article about how to drive a man away in 10 days, and advertising executive Benjamin Barry, who bets that he can make any woman fall in love with him within the same period.
The romantic comedy grossed roughly $177 million to $180 million worldwide against a reported $50 million budget and has remained a popular title in the genre.
Hudson previously addressed the possibility of a sequel during a July 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live. She said the project had been discussed, but that the script would need to be right before she and McConaughey would consider returning.
