New Trans Jateng Route to Connect Magelang and Temanggung in 2027

Magelang, en. SERU.co.id – The Trans Jateng public transport network continues to grow, bringing better connectivity to Central Java. A new corridor serving the Gelangmanggung agglomeration area is set to launch full operations in August 2027, creating a vital link between Magelang and Temanggung.

The route will run both ways from Terminal Maron in Temanggung to Terminal Tidar in Magelang City and on to Terminal Borobudur in Magelang Regency. The service will be supported by a fleet of 14 medium-sized buses.

To check on readiness, members of Commission D from the Central Java Provincial DPRD conducted an on-site inspection, including a visit to Terminal Borobudur on Monday, July 20, 2026. Commission member Nurul Furqon assessed the existing fleet as already in good condition for service.

“According to data from the Transportation Agency, passenger occupancy at Terminal Borobudur has reached an impressive 94 percent,” Nurul said.

The new corridor will also be strengthened by dedicated shuttles for the National Strategic Tourism Area (KSPN) around Borobudur. Operated by Sinar Jaya, these minibuses provide direct connections from Borobudur to key destinations in Yogyakarta, including Malioboro, Tugu Station, and Terminal Jombor.

“These KSPN vehicles are assistance from the Ministry and have significantly improved connectivity while boosting public interest in using mass transportation,” Nurul added. (gts/mzm)
