Los Angeles, en.SERU.co.id — Paramount Pictures will give Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender a limited one-week theatrical run-in select cinemas in Los Angeles and New York to qualify the animated film for awards consideration, the studio confirmed this week.
The film, which premieres globally on Paramount+ on Saturday, July 25, will screen from Friday, July 24 through Thursday, July 30, with three daily showtimes at AMC Burbank Town Center 6 in Burbank, California, and AMC Empire 25 in Manhattan. Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
According to reports, the limited release is designed to make the film eligible for the 2027 Academy Awards, particularly in the Best Animated Feature category.

Despite the brief theatrical window, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender remains primarily a streaming title. The film will debut on Paramount+ just one day after the theatrical run begins.
The movie was originally scheduled for a wide theatrical release in October 2026 before Paramount shifted Avatar Studios projects to its streaming service as the exclusive distributor.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender marks the first theatrical-style production from Avatar Studios, founded in 2021. The film continues the story of the beloved Nickelodeon series, set years after the original events, following a now-adult Aang and his friends.
The voice cast includes Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Dionne Quan as Toph, Steven Yeun as Zuko, and Dave Bautista as the villain Tagah. Additional cast members include Taika Waititi, Ke Huy Quan, Freida Pinto, and Geraldine Viswanathan. Dee Bradley Baker returns to voice Appa and Momo.
The story follows Aang as he discovers an ancient power that could save the Air Nomad culture from extinction.
