Malang, en.SERU.co.id – The 75th or Stage III 2026 graduation of Politeknik Negeri Malang (Polinema) confirmed 937 graduates from 27 study programs from the Main Campus and PSDKU Kediri Campus. With the provisions that have been received, the Director of Polinema emphasized the readiness of graduates in facing the disruption of the world of work.
Director of Polinema, Ir. Supriatna Adhisuwignjo ST MT, advised the graduates to be ready to face the dynamics of changes in the world of work that are moving increasingly fast. Following changes in technology, mindset, and the increasingly rapid dynamics of the global economy.
“The main challenge for graduates today is not merely surviving. But rather the ability to continuously adapt continuously to technological disruption, mindset, and the global economy,” said Supriatna, in his welcome speech, at Graha Polinema on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Changes of the Digitalization Era and Interaction
According to him, the way people work today is very different compared to a decade ago and that change will not stop here. This change is not only about digitalization, but also about how humans interact with work.
“With flexibility, efficiency, and life balance becoming the main values sought in the modern work system. In this context, the ability to remain relevant becomes the main challenge, both for companies and individuals,” he added.
As information, a total of 2,404 graduates have been confirmed by Polinema in 2026 from the Applied Master’s, Applied Bachelor’s, and Diploma levels. The director advised the graduates to always become lifelong learners, proactive, and have strong integrity. As well as ready to build a strong professional network in the global era.
Global Trends and Challenges in the Modern World of Work
Citing the Global Human Capital Trends 2026 report from Deloitte, Supriatna explained that the biggest change currently centers on the nature of the work itself which reaches 49 percent. Followed by the shift in required skills of 39 percent.
“Technological factors such as the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) of 37 percent, automation 34 percent, as well as business strategy transformation dominate the modern work landscape,” he explained.
This massive transformation also brings its own challenges for workers. Based on data from the same report, around 68 percent of workers feel a decline in well-being, 61 percent experience a lack of role clarity. Meanwhile 60 percent face an increase in workload, as well as 58 percent feel less relevant due to the skills gap.
“Therefore, Polinema answers those challenges through curriculum renewal, strengthening expertise through practical lectures and industrial internships. Digitalization of learning based on Learning Management System (LMS) and hybrid platforms, involvement of industry practitioners, as well as the application of the Outcome Based Education system (OBE–OBC–OBA),” he said.
