Malang, en.SERU.co.id – Politeknik Negeri Malang (Polinema) has reaffirmed its commitment to playing a greater role in human resource development and becoming an impact campus. Through vocational education, research and innovation that deliver directs benefits to society, the institution is also taking part in filling and commemorating the 81st anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
Polinema Director Ir Supriatna Adhisuwignjo ST MT said the independence anniversary serves as a reminder for higher education institutions, particularly Polinema as a vocational campus. The university must continue making real contributions to Indonesia’s progress through the Tri Dharma of Higher Education by developing people, research and innovation.
“Through the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, Polinema is committed to producing graduates who are competent in both hard skills and soft skills according to industry needs. At the same time, it brings benefits as an impact campus for society, the nation and the state,” Supriatna said after the 81st Independence Day ceremony at the Polinema field on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Supriatna stressed that the human resources produced by Polinema are expected to help realize Indonesia as an advanced, sovereign, independent and progressive nation. The campus role does not stop at classroom learning. Research and innovation by lecturers and students are expected to provide solutions to various problems faced by the community.
“The main point is how the Polinema campus can contribute, from the leadership ranks to educational staff, including students, so that everyone can make a contribution,” said the former First Deputy Director of Polinema.
Accelerating Research Downstreaming for Immediate Community Benefit
He encouraged research results and technological innovations developed at Polinema not to remain only as academic works. Instead, they should be ready for application and down streaming so that their benefits can be felt by the public as soon as possible.
“Accelerating down streaming is an important step that Polinema needs to take, both in the short and long term. Works by lecturers and students that can be applied in the field should be directed so they are immediately utilized by society, the nation and the state,” explained the two-term Director of Polinema.
This step forms part of the impact campus concept that Polinema wants to strengthen in commemorating the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Higher education institutions should not only be spaces for developing science and technology but also centers that generate solutions capable of answering community needs.
“In this way, independence is not only understood as the history of the nation’s struggle. It is also realized through real work, innovation and service that bring benefits to society,” he stated.
