Seoul, en.SERU.co.id — After four years since their last group release, BIGBANG is gearing up for new music this summer. The group now consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, is set to release fresh material ahead of their highly anticipated 20th anniversary activities.

According to reports, the three members are scheduled to shoot a music video during the third week of July (July 19–25), with their schedules already coordinated around the project. The new release is expected to drop before the start of their world tour.

This comeback forms part of BIGBANG’s celebration of two decades since debut. The trio made a strong return to the international stage earlier this year with performances at Coachella 2026 in April, their first major festival appearance in nearly a decade.

In June, YG Entertainment officially announced the BIGBANG 2026 World Tour, which will kick off with three shows at Goyang Stadium from August 21 to 23. The 31-date tour will span Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia.

Billboard reported:

“G-DRAGON, TAEYANG and DAESUNG are getting the old band back together for a trek that will get underway Friday, Aug. 21 at Goyang Stadium.” The tour has been described as one of the year’s major live music events.

T.O.P will not be part of the comeback or the tour. The rapper-actor left YG Entertainment in 2023 and has focused on his solo work and acting career. Reports from The Korea Herald and other outlets earlier this year made it clear that he has no plans to rejoin BIGBANG, citing personal reasons and his past controversies. He released his first full solo album in years under his own label, Topspot Pictures, and reportedly views the 2022 single “Still Life” as his final project with the group.

During a fan event earlier this year, G-Dragon shared his excitement:

“This year, BIGBANG is making a comeback for their 20th anniversary. As both a member and a fan, I am also looking forward to it, and I think all the members feel the same way.”

At Coachella, Daesung described the moment simply but warmly: “It’s not just a comeback, it’s our restart.”

Industry sources told The Korea Herald in June that the group is likely to release a physical single featuring two or three new tracks rather than a full album, given the timeline. The release is expected around August, close to their debut anniversary.

While YG Entertainment has not yet confirmed an exact release date, anticipation among fans (known as VIPs) has been building steadily since the Coachella shows.
