Malang Regency Wins OJK Financial Literacy Award for Best Local Program

Bekasi, en.SERU.co.id – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) held the Satu Rekening Satu Pelajar (KEJAR) Award and Financial Literacy Award ceremony. Among the winners, Malang Regency received the award for Best Regional Government Financial Literacy Program at the regency level.

Head of OJK Malang Office Farid Faletehan said the KEJAR Award and Financial Literacy Award were given to the banking industry, educational institutions, regional governments, financial services business players (PUJK), stakeholders, financial literacy ambassadors and communities.

“This year’s Financial Literacy Award goes to Malang Regency as the Regional Government with the Best Financial Literacy Program at the Regency Level through the Malang Makmur Finansial program Merangkul yang Rentan, Membangun Kemandirian,” Farid said.

Through the series of National Savings Day and Financial Literacy Month 2026, OJK together with all stakeholders has committed to continuously expanding financial literacy and inclusion across Indonesia. The goal is to create an inclusive, healthy and sustainable financial ecosystem for future generations.

Malang Makmur Finansial Brings Financial Literacy Award to Malang Regency

The Malang Makmur Finansial program led Malang Regency to win the Financial Literacy Award. Organized by the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) of Malang Regency, the program targets three productive groups that contribute significantly to the local economy yet still face challenges in financial management and access to financing. These groups include:

  • Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and their families
  • Fishers and MSME players in the fisheries and marine sector
  • Dairy farmers and MSME players producing milk-based products

In addition to the main award, several achievements from the OJK Malang region also received national nominations, including:

  • Nomination for Best KEJAR Implementation Area at City/Regency Level in the Java-Bali Region for Malang City and Probolinggo City
  • Nomination in the OJK PEDULI (Penggerak Duta Literasi Keuangan Indonesia) Best Financial Services Business Player category for Findhi Indriana of PT BPR Putera Dana
  • Nomination for PUJK with the Best Financial Literacy Program for PT BPR Kota Pasuruan

KEJAR Award and Financial Literacy Award

The KEJAR Award is presented to the banking industry, educational institutions and regional governments that have actively supported the implementation of the One Account One Student (KEJAR) program through account openings, publications, outreach and education.

Meanwhile, the Financial Literacy Award is a form of appreciation for financial services business players (PUJK), stakeholders, regional governments, financial literacy ambassadors and communities that have played a role in driving massive and equitable improvements in financial literacy.

“These two awards are expected to encourage broader collaboration in building an inclusive, healthy and sustainable financial ecosystem,” Farid said.

Appreciation from the OJK Board of Commissioners

Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi stressed the importance of collaboration among all parties in improving financial literacy among the younger generation. She emphasized the need to promote a culture of saving from an early age as part of planning for the future and contributing to nation-building.

“It is the duty of all of us to improve financial literacy among students. Make sure Indonesian children are part of Indonesia’s future economic growth,” she said during National Savings Day (HIM) and Financial Literacy Month (BLK) 2026 under the theme ‘Weaving the Future through Financial Literacy and Inclusion.’

The event at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Atas 13 Bekasi on Friday (28/8/2026) was attended by more than 1,000 students from elementary, junior high, senior high and higher education levels. It was also attended by regional heads who received awards, leaders of financial services industry associations, ministry and agency officials, and financial services business players.

Financial Literacy Month (BLK) Part of the National Smart Finance Movement (GENCARKAN)

OJK initiated Financial Literacy Month (BLK) as part of the National Smart Finance Movement (GENCARKAN) to massively and evenly improve financial literacy.

BLK ran from May to August 2026 and consisted of several series of activities, including:

  • BLK Kick Off
  • Financial Literacy Series 2026
  • Financial Literacy Campaign 2026
  • Financial Literacy Award 2026

As an illustration of achievements in the region, OJK Malang recorded 45 education activities attended by 13,145 people.
