Los Angeles, en.SERU.co.id – Singer and actress Ariana Grande will step back from public-facing work and appearances after completing her Eternal Sunshine Tour. The decision was announced through her representative and first reported exclusively by People on August 2, 2026. The announcement has since been confirmed by multiple major outlets, including the BBC, Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Hollywood Reporter and The Guardian.
According to the official statement provided by Grande’s representative to People:
“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
The Eternal Sunshine Tour, which consists of 41 dates, will conclude on September 1, 2026, following a series of 10 performances at The O2 Arena in London that begin on August 15. Before that, Grande is still scheduled to perform in Chicago on August 3, 5 and 6, 2026.
Withdrawal From West End Production
As part of the same decision, Grande has also chosen to step away from the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Sunday in the Park with George. The production, scheduled to open at the Barbican Centre in London in the summer of 2027, was originally set to reunite her with her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.
Empire Street Productions, the show’s producer, confirmed Grande’s decision in a statement to the BBC and other media:
“Following this evening’s announcement from Ariana Grande’s team, we can confirm that she has decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George. We know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support. We wish her nothing but the best.”

Several outlets, including People and Rolling Stone, reported that the decision follows months of intense public speculation about Grande’s physical appearance and health. A source close to Grande told People that she “performs a very physical show” and “performs healthily and successfully at a very high-level night after night.”
The announcement arrives shortly after Grande released her latest studio album, Petal. Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter also reported the representative’s statement that cited “endless, ongoing public scrutiny” as one of the reasons for the break. Grande’s team has emphasized that her main focus remains finishing the tour in good health.
