Vibrant Volleyball Competition Kicks Off in Kunti Village Boyolali

Boyolali, Indonesia, en.SERU.co.id — A lively volleyball tournament kicked off at the Dukuh Banjarsari field in Village Kunti, Kecamatan Andong, providing a positive outlet for local youth to enjoy their hobby while honing their sporting talents.

The event was officially opened on Thursday evening (June 25, 2026) by Boyolali Regency DPRD member Eko Budi Ristiyanto, SM.MSi, alongside village officials from Kunti and representatives from the Andong Police.

“This is the perfect moment to nurture the younger generation and bring sports closer to the community. The tournament also aims to identify and develop promising athletes from the Andong sub-district and surrounding areas,” Eko said.

He urged the organizing committee to prioritize sportsmanship, security, and order throughout the event, while encouraging spectators to cheer for their favorite teams with respect and good manners.

According to Karmo, one of the event organizers, 32 village teams from Boyolali Regency and nearby regions are taking part. The tournament has received official approval from the Boyolali chapter of PBVSI (the Indonesian Volleyball Federation).

“We hope the event runs smoothly and all participants uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship,” a PBVSI representative said.

Kunti Village Secretary Tanggul Susilo expressed full support for the initiative, expressing hope that healthy competition would help similar activities continue and grow in the future.

One of the standout players, Rino Daffa from the Bina Sejahtera Sawit team, said he was excited for the matches ahead.

“Events like this don’t just promote sportsmanship — they also give us a chance to show what we can do on the court. We hope tournaments like this are held more often,” he said.

The tournament is expected to foster community spirit and uncover new local talent in the sport. (gts/mzm)
