Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id — The South Jakarta District Court has partially granted a pre-trial petition filed in connection with the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, directing the Jakarta Metro Police (Polda Metro Jaya) to continue its investigation due to conflicting information about the case’s status.
Presiding Judge Suparna highlighted inconsistencies within the police force regarding the handling of the case. While investigators told the court that the probe was still ongoing and no termination order (SP3) had been issued, other police officials had previously stated that the case files were already transferred to the Military Police Center (Puspom TNI).
“The petition is partially granted, including the demand that police continue handling the report submitted by Andrie Yunus on March 13, 2026,” Judge Suparna said on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
The judge noted that these conflicting statements have created confusion for both the victim and the public, suggesting the investigation was already complete once files were sent to the military. This situation, he said, has led to legal uncertainty and undermined the victim’s right to justice.
TAUD Demands Case Returned to Civilian Investigators
Responding to the ruling, the Tim Advokasi untuk Demokrasi (TAUD) described the decision as a significant legal victory that strengthens the push to bring the case back under civilian jurisdiction.
TAUD representative Al Ayyubi Harahap urged Polda Metro Jaya to immediately recall all case files and evidence previously handed over to Puspom TNI.
“Polda Metro Jaya must withdraw the files and evidence that were transferred. They should be handled by the police,” Harahap said.

He also raised concerns about how evidence has been managed during the ongoing military trial, saying the process has not met proper standards and could compromise the integrity of the case.
Beyond the suspects already named, TAUD is pressing police to conduct a thorough investigation to uncover all parties involved, including any intellectual actors or those who may have funded the attack.
“The most important thing is to reveal everyone behind this, not just the ones who have been processed so far. We want a comprehensive investigation,” Harahap added.
The group also called for the military court proceedings to be halted, arguing that the pre-trial ruling provides strong grounds to reevaluate whether the case should remain under military jurisdiction. (aan/mzm)
