Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id — After the massive success of Super Mario Odyssey, fans have been hungry for Nintendo’s next big 3D Mario adventure on the Switch 2. The promise of fresh worlds, creative gameplay, and that classic Mario magic has everyone excited. But while Nintendo stays silent, reliable leakers are starting to reveal when we might actually see it.

According to NateTheHate, one of the more trusted voices in Nintendo news, the next 3D Mario won’t be coming this year. It’s now looking like a 2027 release.

In his recent podcast, he said it straight:

“One game that will not be releasing in holiday 2026 is 3D Mario. 3D Mario will be releasing in 2027.”

This update matches reports from sites like KitGuru and Notebookcheck. NateTheHate, who’s been accurate on Switch 2 details before, thinks Nintendo wants to steer clear of big competition like GTA 6 and make sure the game gets the proper development time it deserves.

Back in February, some insiders were more hopeful and predicted a late 2026 launch as a major flagship title. Those expectations have now cooled off.

Right now, Nintendo seems to be focusing on remasters and enhanced ports, including the recent Star Fox remake and the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

On the rumor front, leaker Nick Baker mentioned in April that Super Mario Maker 3 is in development, while Luigi’s Mansion 4 is also being eyed for a possible 2027 window.

Of course, we still don’t know much about the actual gameplay of the new 3D Mario. Many expect it to expand on the open, creative style from Odyssey, but that remains pure speculation for now.

As always, treat these as rumors. Nintendo is known for keeping things under wraps and surprising everyone when they’re ready. Fake trailers and AI-generated hype are everywhere, so it’s smart to stay skeptical.
