Los Angeles, en.SERU.co.id — Director Matt Reeves has confirmed the addition of three major stars — Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Charles Dance — to the cast of The Batman Part II, the highly anticipated sequel set for release on October 1, 2027.

In a series of atmospheric posts on X (formerly Twitter) on May 13 and 14, Reeves unveiled the new cast members alongside moody test footage from the streets of Gotham. The announcement comes just weeks before principal photography is scheduled to begin in London at the end of May or early June.

According to reports from Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter, the trio will portray members of the Dent family, a central element in the sequel’s story:

  • Sebastian Stan will play Harvey Dent, the Gotham District Attorney who will eventually become Two-Face.
  • Scarlett Johansson will portray Gilda Dent, Harvey’s wife.
  • Charles Dance is set to play Charles (or Christopher) Dent, Harvey’s father.

Reeves personally welcomed the actors on social media. He greeted Johansson with the message “Next exit, Gotham… Welcome,” paired with a GIF from her film Under the Skin. For Stan, he wrote, “In a Gotham state of mind… Welcome.”

The casting had been rumored for months. Deadline first reported Johansson in final negotiations in December 2025, followed by Stan in January 2026 and Dance in April 2026. Reeves’ posts now make the deals official.

Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, joined by returning cast members Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/The Penguin. The film is written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin.

With the addition of two Marvel stars and the commanding presence of Game of Thrones veteran Charles Dance, The Batman Part II is shaping up to deliver a deeper, more mature exploration of corruption, trauma, and the making of Two-Face in Reeves’ gritty, noir-inspired Gotham.

No further plot details or official comments from DC Studios have been released. Production is expected to ramp up quickly in the coming weeks.
