Batu, en.SERU.co.id – The Batu City Government has officially released the series of activities to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Batu City. Carrying the spirit of togetherness and culture, this year’s celebration is filled with dozens of interesting agendas that take place in a marathon from September to December 2026.
Chair of the 25th Anniversary of Batu City Committee, Badrut Tamam, said this series of activities is designed as a momentum for reflection on the city’s journey as well as strengthening community togetherness.
“The 25th Anniversary of Batu City is an important momentum for all of us to reflect on the journey of our beloved city while looking toward a better future,” said Badrut.
Various cultural festivals, public entertainment stages, sports events, religious activities, up to social services have been prepared to pamper local residents as well as tourists. The series of events was opened in early September with the national-level ornamental orchid event Batu Shining Orchids Week 2026 (4–13 September) as well as the Batu Culture Festival (11–12 September). The September festivities continued with culinary offerings at the Batu Street Food Festival (17–19 September).
“The Batu Street Food Festival coincided with the moment of the Launching of the 25th Anniversary Logo of Batu City,” he said.
Not only entertainment, environmental and food concern are also carried through World Clean Up Day “Gugur Gunung Bersih-Bersih Kota Batu Asri” (25–26 September) and the Food Festival. For elementary and junior high school students, a Postcard Writing Competition with the theme “My Hope for Batu City in the Future” is also held, running until mid-October.
“Entering the peak of activities in October 2026, it begins with Kemilau Budaya Mbatu Sae Artnival (3 October) and Batu Youth Fest (9–10 October). Before entering the peak of the commemoration, the ranks of the Batu City Government also held the Tradition of Pilgrimage to the Tombs of the Founders of Batu City and Former Regional Officials (13–16 October). This was continued with a Special Plenary Session at the Batu City DPRD on 16 October 2026.
Approaching the main agenda, on 16–17 October a People’s Party of MSMEs and a National Artist Music Performance featuring Denny Caknan and Ndarboy will be held at Brantas Stadium in Batu City. For the peak of the commemoration, it is marked by a flag ceremony commemorating the Anniversary of Batu City and East Java Province which is carried out on 17 October 2026 at Among Tani City Hall.

The liveliness of the 25th Anniversary of Batu City in October will be closed with an art performance of Wayang Performance (19 October), Student Show (25 October), Flower Carnival (31 October) as well as the automotive championship Super Adventure Enduro (31 October – 1 November).
“Throughout the full month of October, the Batu City Government is also providing a facilitation program in the form of Regional Tax Incentives for residents,” he added.
Entering November, Badrut continued, a religious atmosphere will color Batu City through the Grand Dzikir of Gus Iqdam on 1 November at Among Tani City Hall and the Grand Recitation of Gus Muafiq in Beji Village. In addition, there is also a Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) competition at the sub-district level on 13–14 November.
For sports and healthy walking enthusiasts, there is the Mayor’s Cup Padel Tournament (7–8 November) and the Mlaku Bareng Cak Nur and Mas Heli event on 21 November at Batu City Square.
“On this 25th Anniversary of Batu City, the Batu City Government will also prove its social concern through Free Eye Health Examinations and Cataract Surgery in all sub-districts,” he added.
This series of commemorations of a quarter century of Batu City is officially closed with the holding of a night of togetherness Jumpa Batu Lagi on 14 November at Kusuma Agrowisata. Several additional events include the distribution of glasses for Quran teachers across Batu City which is also scheduled for 5 November 2026. As the culmination of this grand moment, the Grand Final of Kangmas Nimas Batu City on 5 December 2026 at Hotel Singhasari Batu.
“The people of Batu City and tourists are urged to also attend and enliven the entire series of events that are presented,” he concluded. (dik/mzm)
