Seoul, en.SERU.co.id — Super Junior member Kim Heechul has donated 100 million won (approximately US$72,000) to support residents affected by severe flooding in southern South Korea, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on August 24, 2026.
The donation will be used to help restore flood-damaged areas, support affected residents and assist displaced people as they return to their daily lives.
The southern cities of Geoje and Tongyeong were among the areas heavily affected by record rainfall and were designated special disaster zones by the government.
Heechul Makes Immediate Donation
According to Hope Bridge, Heechul contacted the association after learning about the extent of the flooding and immediately confirmed the donation account before transferring the full amount.
Heechul said he decided to contribute after seeing reports that the affected southern regions had been designated special disaster zones.
“I believe true donation means acting without hesitation the moment one decides to help, so that it reaches those in need completely,” he said in a statement shared by Hope Bridge.
Heechul also expressed hope that the donation would help recovery workers and residents who lost their homes in the floods.
He encouraged more people to pay attention to the situation and support communities affected by the disaster.
The donation comes as South Korea continues relief and recovery efforts following heavy rainfall that hit southern regions in mid-August.
