Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) once again demonstrated its commitment to encouraging the development of export-oriented small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
At the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 held from October 14–18, 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Bank Jatim successfully facilitated 30 fostered SMEs to expand their business networks and explore international market opportunities with a total export agreement value reaching USD 5.09 million, or equivalent to more than Rp 80 billion.
Director of Medium, Corporate, and Institutional Banking of Bank Jatim, Arif Suhirman, explained that in the activity, Bank Jatim participated as an exhibitor by presenting 30 fostered SMEs that had gone through a curation process. Some of them were participants in the Jatim Export Trade Assistance (JXTA) program and the Export Coaching Program (ECP), which are designed to strengthen business capacity as well as prepare SME actors in developing export-oriented businesses.
“Dozens of those SMEs occupied two exhibition areas, namely the Main Hall of TEI which was filled by 26 SMEs from the furniture, home decoration, crafts, manufacturing, batik, and industrial commodity sectors. Meanwhile, four SMEs from the processed food and beverage sector typical of East Java participated in the Pangan Nusa Expo area,” he explained, accompanied by VP International Banking of Bank Jatim, Hening Tri Ujianti.
TEI is an international business-to-business (B2B) trade exhibition organized by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. In this 41st edition, TEI carried the theme “The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing” as a platform to bring together Indonesian business actors with buyers from various countries while promoting national superior products to the global market.
Arif also stated that the achievement was the result of a continuous business mentoring process. According to him, the readiness of SMEs to enter the international market is not only determined by product quality, but also by the ability of business actors to understand market needs, build business networks, and meet global trade standards.
“Bank Jatim continues to encourage fostered SMEs to have readiness and competitiveness to enter the international market. Participation in Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 becomes one of the efforts to bring business actors together with potential buyers from various countries, while opening opportunities for cooperation that can support sustainable business growth,” he said.

The export agreement value of USD 5.09 million was the result of a series of mentoring processes carried out in stages, starting from business pitching, strengthening business readiness, up to business matching with potential international business partners.
This achievement simultaneously shows the potential of East Java superior products to reach a wider market.
Arif affirmed that the success further strengthens the role of Bank Jatim as a strategic partner in the development of export-oriented SMEs. Appreciation was also given by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia through the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) with an award as Strategic Partner of the Export Mentoring Program.
In addition to receiving the award, Bank Jatim also obtained the trust to become a resource person in two sessions, namely Strategic Partner of Export Mentoring and Acceleration of Food SMEs Go International. That involvement became an opportunity for Bank Jatim to share experiences and mentoring practices in supporting the readiness of Indonesian SMEs to face international market competition.
“Going forward, Bank Jatim will continue to strengthen synergy with the government, strategic partners, and business actors to create an increasingly strong export ecosystem. We hope that more and more East Java SMEs are able to improve product quality, expand marketing reach, and grow as competitive business actors in the international market,” concluded Arif.
