Malang, en.SERU.co.id – One of Indonesia’s most beloved bands, Sheila on 7, will return to Malang after seven long years to headline Poliponi ‘Si Paling Konser’, a massive outdoor music festival set for Saturday, 20 June 2026 at Lapangan Rampal, Malang City.

Joining Sheila on 7 on the star-studded lineup are Barasuara, Fiersa Besari, Coldiac, and several other major national acts to be announced soon. The event promises to deliver the best and most spectacular concert experience for Indonesian music lovers.

Radita Kus Hartono, representative of promoter Letralive and Operational Director of Poliponi, stated that the festival will feature a strong roster of well-known national musicians with solid fanbases.

“Sheila on 7 as the main act will definitely cure the longing of Sheilagank in Malang and across East Java. Their last performance in Malang was about seven years ago,” Radit said excitedly.

Barasuara will bring their viral hit “Terbuang Dalam Waktu” – the anthem from the movie Sore – which fans across major cities have been singing along to. At Poliponi, the crowd will get to sing it together live.

After a hiatus, singer-songwriter Fiersa Besari returns to the stage to revive his timeless songs that fans have been waiting to hear again.

Local pride Coldiac, Malang’s own band, will also perform and celebrate music together with the other artists for the people of Malang and surrounding areas.

“Besides these confirmed acts, several other big names will be announced in the near future. Their presence perfectly reflects the spirit of ‘Poliponi’ – many different colors, energies, and musical approaches united on one harmonious stage,” Radit added.

About Poliponi ‘Si Paling Konser’ 2026

Held in the open-air setting of Lapangan Rampal, Poliponi is designed as an immersive outdoor concert experience. It combines a grand stage setup, premium sound system, world-class lighting, and an emotionally powerful lineup. The festival aims to be a meeting point for different generations and musical styles.

Co-founder of Letralive, Erwin Wibowo, explained that the event is expected to provide the highest-quality music appreciation experience. “We will ensure that every supporting element – sound system, lighting, and stage rig – is optimized to deliver the best sonic experience possible for music fans in Malang,” he said.

Creative Director Ari Wulu added that Poliponi brings a fresh concept.

“Poliponi means many voices in one harmony, representing the spirit of musical diversity on a single collaborative stage. Audiences will enjoy proper concert sound and stunning visual lighting that perfectly complements the performances,” he explained.

Ari is optimistic that Poliponi will attract up to 20,000 attendees, including 10,000 from outside Malang. Unlike typical back-to-back festivals, Poliponi includes proper intervals between performances for a more enjoyable experience.

“Since it’s still months away, start saving up and bring your friends. If it’s holiday time, invite your parents and siblings to Malang. We also hope the artists will help spread the word so fans can have a big reunion,” Ari encouraged.

Artists’ Reactions

Bassist of Sheila on 7, Adam M. Subarkah, shared his excitement.

“So7 last performed in Malang about seven years ago. Poliponi is the perfect moment for the three of us – Eross, Duta, and myself – to reunite with Sheilagank,” he said enthusiastically.

Performing as a trio (Eross Candra, Akhdiyat Duta Modjo, and Adam), Sheila on 7 promises a full-power set, including the newly released 2024 track “Dan” and their classic “Memori Baik.”

“It depends on the duration and organizer’s plan, but we will definitely give our maximum performance,” Adam said.

Coldiac members Sambadha and Bhima expressed pride at sharing the stage with their idols Sheila on 7.

“We will entertain Coldiac Squaw with everything we’ve got, even though we just played in Malang a year ago. We’ll bring nostalgic tracks from 2017 until now, including ‘Beautiful Day’,” Sambadha said, with Bhima nodding in agreement.

Why Malang?

Malang was chosen for its strong, loyal music community and long history of supporting a progressive creative ecosystem. The city is also a major tourist destination with abundant natural attractions and culinary delights loved by young people and visitors from across Indonesia.

“Malang has huge tourism potential alongside other cities like Jogja, Bali, and Bandung. With so many students living here, there’s great opportunity for creative-economy growth. We hope Poliponi can become one of the drivers of that economic boost,” Radit concluded. (rhd)
