The THE Sustainability Impact Ratings assess institutions across four key pillars: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.

Prof. Ahmad described the achievement as recognition that sustainability is now embedded in daily campus life — from classrooms and labs to community service programs in villages and schools.

“This ranking affirms that our academic work truly touches people’s lives and supports local economic growth. But this is not the finish line. It’s a foundation for us to create even greater positive impact,” he said.

He added that UM plans to deepen collaborations with government, industry, and international partners, while expanding green campus initiatives to make its sustainability efforts more measurable and widely felt. (aan/mzm)
