Batu, en.SERU.co.id — The Forum Desa Wisata (Fordewi) of Batu City continues to solidify its position as a key driver of grassroots economic growth. In its latest initiative, Fordewi has committed to serving as a strategic bridge for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across all tourism villages in Batu, enabling them to market their flagship products directly at major tourist attractions — including the newly popular Mikutopia.
This concrete step began with a working visit by Fordewi officials to Mikutopia, located in Desa Tulungrejo, Kecamatan Bumiaji. The visit aimed to map potential collaborations to empower local economies, with a particular focus on supporting MSME owners.
Mochammad Dadi, Chairman of Fordewi Batu City, revealed that Mikutopia management responded very positively to the proposal.
“A green light has been given for flagship MSME products from the tourism villages to be displayed and sold within the attraction,” Dadi said. “In practice, this collaboration will involve BUMDes Tulungrejo as the entity accommodating MSME products as well as tourism packages from each village or urban ward across Batu City.”
Dadi added that village tourism institution managers now have the opportunity to collaborate with Mikutopia through BUMDes Tulungrejo. The partnership is expected to deliver significant benefits for the welfare of Batu City residents as a whole, extending far beyond Desa Tulungrejo.
As a follow-up, Fordewi plans to initiate a product curation program in the near future.
“This curation process is essential to ensure quality standards and market readiness before products are offered to visitors,” Dadi explained. “We want to guarantee that every item on offer is truly high-quality and competitive.”

Tourism Ecosystem
Through this stage, Mikutopia management will be able to select products that best match the characteristics and preferences of their guests. The synergy between tourist attraction managers and Fordewi is anticipated to foster a more inclusive tourism ecosystem. By channeling local products into commercial tourist sites, the multiplier effect can be felt directly by communities at the village level.
“With this system, we hope the economy of MSME players in tourism villages will rise and become more equitable,” Dadi concluded. “This is a real effort to ensure local residents are not merely spectators amid the rapid growth of tourism in Batu City.” (dik/mzm)
