Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – BPJS Kesehatan has confirmed that healthcare services for National Health Insurance (JKN) participants will continue uninterrupted throughout the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday period. This measure anticipates the expected surge in public mobility as people travel back to their hometowns (mudik) across various regions. A range of health services, mudik posts, and information access points have been prepared to ensure participants receive care wherever they are.
BPJS Kesehatan CEO, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Dr. dr. Prihati Pujowaskito, emphasized that JKN participants are entitled to healthcare services at any time and in any location, including during mudik travel.
“Currently, BPJS Kesehatan collaborates with 23,532 primary healthcare facilities, 3,189 hospitals and main clinics, as well as 5,025 pharmacies under the Back-Referral Program (PRB) and chronic disease medication outlets nationwide,” Prihati stated during a press conference on Monday, March 9, 2026.
He added that increased mobility during mudik could lead to fatigue or other health issues. Therefore, BPJS Kesehatan guarantees that all participants can access healthcare services without barriers, whether in their home regions or destinations.

Eight Mudik Posts Prepared
As part of these efforts, BPJS Kesehatan has set up eight mudik posts, which will operate from March 13–16, 2026 (with some sources indicating extended availability up to March 26 in certain reports). These posts are located at strategic, high-traffic mudik routes.
The eight mudik post locations are:
- Merak Port, Banten
- Pulo Gebang Terminal, East Jakarta
- Cipularang Toll Rest Area KM 88 A, Purwakarta
- Cipali Toll Rest Area KM 166 A, Majalengka
- Ungaran Toll Rest Area KM 429 A, Semarang
- Masaran Toll Rest Area KM 519 A, Sragen
- Purabaya Terminal, Sidoarjo
- Soekarno-Hatta Port, Makassar
At these mudik posts, travelers can access various health services, including health consultations, basic medical check-ups, medication provision, relaxation facilities, ambulance services, and simple emergency care.
Treatment Outside of Domicile Allowed
Prihati assured that JKN participants needing healthcare while away from their registered domicile can still receive treatment. A list of healthcare facilities open during the Eid holidays is available via the Aplicares app or the website: https://faskes.bpjs-kesehatan.go.id/aplicares/#/app/pnama/byname.
BPJS Kesehatan has also prepared multiple information and complaint channels during the Eid break. In hospitals, assistance is available through:
- Hospital Information and Complaint Handler (PIPP RS)
- BPJS SATU Officers (Ready to Help)
- Quick Response Portal (POROS) for complaints and information
- Officer names, photos, and contact numbers displayed in strategic hospital areas, such as information counters and inpatient wards.
Ease for Chronic Patients’ Medication
BPJS Kesehatan is providing flexibility for participants with chronic illnesses or those in the Back-Referral Program (PRB). During the 2026 Eid holiday period, participants may collect medications up to seven days earlier before supplies run out.
For PRB participants:
- Visit a primary healthcare facility to obtain a prescription.
- Take the prescription to a PRB pharmacy for medication pickup.
- Medications can also be collected at PRB pharmacies in the mudik destination area.
For chronic patients who usually collect from hospitals, pickup is possible at hospital pharmacies or nearby outlets by bringing JKN ID, prescription, and required referral documents.
If outside the city, participants can visit the nearest healthcare facility for a referral to an appropriate hospital based on medical needs.
Traffic Accident Coverage Mechanism
BPJS Kesehatan explained the guarantee mechanism for traffic accident victims who are active JKN participants. For single-vehicle accidents proven by a police report, healthcare costs are covered by BPJS Kesehatan.
In multi-vehicle accidents, treatment costs are initially borne by Jasa Raharja up to a maximum of Rp20 million. If costs exceed this amount, the remainder is covered by BPJS Kesehatan per applicable regulations.
Branch Offices Remain Operational
BPJS Kesehatan Membership Director Akmal Budi Yulianto stated that 126 branch offices will operate on a shift basis during the Eid holidays, specifically on March 18, 20, 23, and 24, 2026, from 08:00 to 13:30 local time.
“This ensures participants can still access membership services, such as checking status, obtaining information, or filing complaints,” Akmal said.
Leverage BPJS Kesehatan Digital Services
BPJS Kesehatan encourages participants to use available digital services, including:
- Mobile JKN App — for checking membership status, healthcare facility locations, and hospital room availability.
- WhatsApp PANDAWA at 0811 8165 165 — for administrative services.
- Care Center 165 — for 24-hour information and complaints.
Participants are also reminded to keep their JKN membership active by paying contributions regularly. Payments can be made through 955,470 channels, including bank ATMs, bank offices, and various payment points.
Through these comprehensive measures, BPJS Kesehatan hopes the public can undertake their mudik journeys safely while maintaining full access to health protection during the Eid al-Fitr holidays. (aan/rhd)
