Malang, en.SERU.co.id – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Regional Operation (Daop) 8 Surabaya has opened bookings for 136,045 Eid al-Fitr (Lebaran) homecoming train tickets departing from Malang Station. This covers the Eid transportation period from March 11 to April 1, 2026.

Mahendro Trang Bawono, Public Relations Manager for KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, urged the public to book train tickets promptly for all available departure dates. Tickets for the Eid period—both regular and additional services—have been available for purchase since February 15, 2026.

“Regular and extra train tickets are now bookable through the Access by KAI app and other official channels. We strongly encourage people to plan their trips early so they can select schedules and routes that best suit their needs,” Mahendro said in an official statement to SERU.co.id.

KAI Daop 8 Surabaya has recorded 34,965 ticket bookings from stations in the Greater Malang area (Malang Raya) for the 2026 Eid period, representing 25% of the total tickets provided.

“Since bookings opened on January 25, 2026, reservations from Greater Malang stations have shown steady increases,” he added.

Malang Station leads with the highest number of bookings at 28,447 tickets, followed by Kepanjen Station with 2,729 tickets, Malang Kota Lama Station with 2,391 tickets, and a combined total of 1,398 tickets from Lawang and Sumberpucung stations.

Popular routes include destinations such as Jakarta, Banyuwangi, Bandung, and Purwokerto. The strong public interest highlights significant trust in KAI’s services as a reliable transportation option during the 2026 Lebaran period.

“KAI Daop 8 Surabaya will continue to monitor ticket booking trends to ensure optimal fulfillment of public transportation needs.
