Under the Promo Spesial 17-8-2026 program, passengers can enjoy a 17 percent reduction on commercial economy class train tickets for journeys departing on 17 August 2026.
Manager of Public Relations at KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Mahendro Trang Bawono, said the program was introduced to make travel easier for people during the national holiday.
“The spirit of Independence can be celebrated in many ways, one of which is travelling with family or those closest to us,” Mahendro said.
He explained that the discounted fares are designed to support a range of travel needs, from family gatherings and work commitments to tourism and Independence Day celebrations in various regions. From an economic perspective, the promo is expected to help lower the cost of inter-regional mobility during the holiday period.
Those wishing to take advantage of the offer can book tickets starting from 14 August 2026 at 00.01 WIB until 17 August 2026 at 24.00 WIB. Purchases can be made through the Access by KAI application and other official KAI ticket sales channels. Although the booking window opens several days earlier, the 17 percent discount applies only to departures on 17 August 2026.
