KPwBI Malang Head Indra Kuspriyadi stated that BI Malang has allocated Rp3.913 trillion in cash, marking a 6 percent increase from the 2025 realization of Rp3.675 trillion. This amount will be distributed through Bank Indonesia and banks in the BI Malang working area.

“To fulfill the public’s need for cash exchange services, BI Malang has prepared four service schemes,” said Indra, as he is commonly known.

2026 Currency Exchange Service Schemes

The 2026 currency exchange service schemes planned by KPwBI Malang and banks in the BI Malang working area include:

1. Mobile Cash Services.

During the Ramadan and Eid 2026 period, BI Malang will conduct retail mobile cash services from February 19 to March 12, 2026, spread across 21 locations throughout the BI Malang working area.

2. Integrated Exchange Services with Banks.

BI, in partnership with banks in the BI Malang working area, will hold joint exchanges at the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Malang and the P3GI Building in Pasuruan City on March 14-15, 2026.

3. Exchange Services at Bank Counters.

This year, the public can exchange money at bank offices in the BI Malang working area. A total of 50 locations have been designated for February 26-27 and March 11-13, 2026.

4. Thematic Services.

These involve coordinated exchanges with relevant agencies twice, plus one event at a toll road rest area within the BI Malang working area.

Cash Exchanges via PINTAR BI

All public exchanges—whether through mobile cash services, integrated exchanges with banks, or bank counter exchanges—require prior booking through the PINTAR website, accessible at https://pintar.bi.go.id.

Exchangers must arrive at the selected location and time in person, without proxies, and bring their ID card and booking proof. PINTAR makes it easier for the public to choose exchange schedules and locations based on their preferences.

“All schedules for exchange service activities will be published via BI Malang’s Instagram,” added Indra, who was recently inaugurated as Head of KPwBI Malang.

As such, PINTAR is expected to:

  • Reduce physical queues and site congestion,
  • Ensure fair distribution,
  • Expand accessibility and convenience for the public, and
  • Improve service efficiency and accuracy.

All these exchange service programs are bundled under SERAMBI (Semarak Rupiah Ramadan dan Berkah Idulfitri 2026). It was launched by KPwBI Malang Head Indra Kuspriyadi at Bank Indonesia Malang on Thursday (February 19, 2026), attended by banking leaders from across the BI Malang working area.

“SERAMBI is a series of activities to fulfill the public’s need for Rupiah currency and cash services during the Ramadan and Eid 2026 period,” he explained.

Optimizing BI’s Framework for Rupiah Management

Head of the Representative Office Indra Kuspriyadi outlined three BI frameworks being optimized for Rupiah management ahead of the holidays. First, the availability of quality and reliable Rupiah currency.

“Second, an efficient currency distribution system and excellent cash services. Third, adequate and technology-based Rupiah management infrastructure,” he elaborated.

Additionally, SERAMBI 2026 features innovations such as optimizing the role of banks in cash services, extending the number of services and exchange packages, and enhancing PINTAR’s infrastructure performance.

“In SERAMBI 2026, we invite the public to ‘Love, Pride, Understand Rupiah,’ in line with the SERAMBI 2026 theme: ‘Rupiah Gives Meaning to the Month Full of Blessings,’” said Indra.

Love, Pride, Understand Rupiah is implemented by caring for Rupiah notes with the 5J principles (do not fold, do not scribble, do not staple, do not crumple, and do not wet). Recognizing Rupiah with the 3D method (look, feel, hold to light).

And using it wisely by shopping according to needs (not excessively, ensuring quality matches price, and avoiding hoarding), purchasing domestic products (especially from MSMEs), and allocating funds appropriately (saving and budgeting).

On the same occasion, Bank Indonesia also encourages the public to support the digital economy and finance through optimized non-cash transaction payments. This includes:

  • Using QRIS,
  • Expanding BI-FAST participation, including service channels and public acceptance,
  • And urging Payment Service Providers (PJP) to prepare infrastructure to handle increased transactions during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. (rhd)
