Tangerang, en.SERU.co.id – Indonesian singer Pinkan Mambo has gone viral on social media after being spotted busking on the streets in the Pagedangan area of Tangerang. She explained that the activity was aimed at raising funds for her son’s medical treatment. Her child suffers from cardiomyopathy, a condition involving weakened heart muscles, and requires intensive care in Singapore.

Addressing public attention, Pinkan emphasized that her busking is a legitimate form of work to earn a living. She corrected misconceptions that she was performing on a main road, clarifying that the location was within a residential neighborhood where she had obtained permission from local residents.

“I’m singing there because it’s inside the village. We got permission first to perform. It wasn’t a reprimand; they just said next time not at this hour to avoid disturbing anyone,” Pinkan stated, as quoted from Kompas.com on Saturday (February 7, 2026).

In addition to performing live on-site, Pinkan utilizes social media by going live to accept donations. She mentioned that the collected funds would be used as startup capital for her ventures, including a donut business she’s currently developing.

“From a hundred thousand, it will turn into a donut business, then clothes, and more,” she revealed.

Behind these efforts, Pinkan Mambo is facing severe financial pressures. She shared that her son, Luke—from a previous marriage—has been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, necessitating intensive treatment in Singapore.

“The costs add up to Rp1 billion, but it can be paid in installments of Rp1.5 million per day. So, it’s not just for the rich to get treatment in Singapore. I always say I’m rich—rich in prayers,” she said.

Pinkan recounted that Luke’s condition had reached a critical point. Doctors once predicted he had only days left due to fluid buildup in his body.

However, thanks to intensive medical intervention, Luke’s health has gradually improved. Pinkan noted that the excess fluid was expelled from his body solely through medication.

“So, without any suction procedure. He released 27 liters of water from his body,” she disclosed.

Now, Pinkan Mambo continues her efforts to recover for the sake of her child’s healing. She even plans to expand her performances by involving professional dancers and holding auditions. For Pinkan, busking on the streets represents a mother’s unyielding fight against adversity. (aan/rhd)
