Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – The government is preparing a Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) of Rp900,000 for approximately 13.3 million workers for the October-December period. The assistance amounts to Rp300,000 per month, with a total budget requirement of nearly Rp12 trillion. The government has not yet officially released the recipient criteria, so workers still need to wait for the BSU 2026 regulations.

The plan was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto. It followed a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

“BSU will be given to around 13.3 million workers with a budget requirement of nearly Rp12 trillion. The assistance is calculated at Rp300,000 per month for three months. However, it is planned to be distributed all at once so that each recipient obtains Rp900,000,” said Airlangga, as quoted from detikcom on Friday, 2 October 2026.

Who Is Eligible to Receive BSU 2026?

To date, the government has not released complete regulations regarding the criteria for BSU 2026 recipients. Therefore, the provisions for recipients under the previous year’s program can serve as a reference, but they cannot yet be regarded as the official requirements for BSU 2026.

Under BSU 2025, the government regulated a number of criteria through Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 5 of 2025, which remains in effect. Several provisions used in the previous distribution include:

  1. Indonesian citizens proven by a National Identity Number (NIK).
  2. Active participants of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in the Wage Recipient Worker (PU) category.
  3. Having a salary or wage of a maximum of Rp3.5 million per month, with special provisions for regions where the provincial or district/city minimum wage (UMP/UMK) exceeds that limit.
  4. Not civil servants (ASN), members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), or members of the National Police (Polri).
  5. Prioritized for workers who are not currently receiving the Family Hope Program (PKH) during the specified period.

Is BSU 2026 Based on Decile?

Another question is whether BSU 2026 will be given based on deciles in the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). At present, there is no official provision establishing that BSU 2026 will only be given to workers from certain deciles.

Deciles 1-4 are indeed used as target groups in a number of government programs. However, that scheme does not automatically apply to BSU. Under the BSU 2025 program, recipient criteria were not determined based on deciles. One of the provisions was related to priority for workers who were not currently receiving PKH.

How to Check BSU 2026 Recipients?

The official mechanism for checking BSU 2026 recipients is also still awaiting government updates. To date, the BSU page of the Ministry of Manpower still displays information on previous distributions.

As a reference, in previous distributions the check was carried out through the official Ministry of Manpower website using the NIK. The steps are as follows:

  1. Open the Ministry of Manpower BSU page.
  2. Look for the section on Checking NIK of BSU Recipients.
  3. Enter the 16-digit NIK.
  4. Enter the security code or CAPTCHA.
  5. Click Check Status.
  6. The system will display information regarding the recipient status.

However, those steps constitute the checking mechanism for BSU 2025 that is still listed on the Ministry of Manpower page. For BSU 2026, workers need to wait for system updates as well as official announcements regarding the criteria and disbursement mechanisms.

When will BSU 2026 Be Disbursed?

The government has stated that BSU is allocated for October, November, and December 2026. The assistance is planned to be given all at once for three months with a total of Rp900,000 per worker. However, the disbursement date and distribution mechanism have not yet been officially determined.

Workers are advised to wait for official announcements from the Ministry of Manpower. Participants are also expected not to easily believe information or BSU checking links circulating on social media. (aan/mzm)
