Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – The government has confirmed that registration for Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) 2026 will open this November. That certainty was delivered by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi after the government and the DPR agreed on the implementation of ASN recruitment. Prospective applicants are asked to start preparing themselves to face the selection stages that include SKD and SKB.
That certainty was delivered by Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi, at the DPR/MPR Building, Jakarta.
“We have agreed to carry out recruitment that will also be implemented this year. This November the registration process will be carried out,” said Prasetyo, as quoted from Kompas.com on Friday, November 6, 2026.
That agreement was obtained after Prasetyo held a meeting together with Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini. Then Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar and Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad along with their ranks.
Prasetyo explained that the opening of ASN recruitment is carried out to meet the needs of employees in the implementation of government bureaucracy. In addition, the government needs to carry out a refreshment of the employee composition because every year there are ASN who enter retirement age.
“Indeed it is needed in carrying out the refreshment and composition of our civil servants. Naturally of course every year there are our civil servants who enter retirement age,” he explained.
As for the mechanism and technical provisions for the further implementation of the selection will be regulated by the Ministry of PANRB. Prasetyo asked the public, especially prospective applicants, to monitor official government announcements and start preparing themselves.
“So for our younger siblings they need to be allowed to follow the announcements and prepare themselves for the entire series of CPNS tests,” he concluded.

Two Main Stages of CPNS 2026 Selection
For the public who plan to follow the CPNS 2026 selection, it is important to understand the examination stages that must be gone through. In general, the CPNS selection process consists of two main stages, namely Basic Competency Selection (SKD) and Field Competency Selection (SKB).
- Basic Competency Selection (SKD)
SKD is the initial stage that must be followed by all participants using the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) system. In this stage, participants’ abilities are tested through three types of material, namely:
- National Insight Test (TWK): Measuring participants’ understanding regarding nationalism, national defense, Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and national insight.
- General Intelligence Test (TIU): Testing participants’ verbal, numerical, logic, and analysis abilities.
- Personal Characteristics Test (TKP): Assessing character, work behavior, public service, professionalism, as well as adaptability.
Participants must meet the provisions of the threshold score and ranking that are set to be able to continue to the next stage.
- Field Competency Selection (SKB)
After passing SKD, participants who meet the selection provisions will follow SKB. This stage aims to measure the competence and technical abilities of applicants according to the position or formation that is chosen.
The form of SKB testing can differ depending on the agency and position applied for. Some of them include field CAT tests, psychological tests, competency interviews, work practices, up to physical fitness tests for certain formations.
With the reopening of CPNS recruitment in November 2026, the public is expected not only to wait for the formation announcement. But also to start preparing requirement documents and studying selection materials. Prospective applicants also need to ensure that all registration information comes from official government channels. (aan/mzm)
