Malang, Indonesia, en.SERU.co.id — The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) held a career seminar on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) to equip recent graduates and alumni with essential skills for today’s fast-evolving job market.

Titled “Build A Good Self Branding Through LinkedIn,” the event was organized in collaboration with ParagonCorp at Aula F, FEB UB building. It aimed to help participants navigate the modern workplace, where career paths are no longer straightforward and adaptability is key.

Dr. Nurul Badriyah SE ME, Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship at FEB UB, opened the seminar by highlighting the dramatic shifts in the professional landscape.

“The world of work out there is changing incredibly fast — it’s completely different from what it was 30 years ago,” Dr. Nurul said during her session on “Pergeseran Tren Industri: Dari Linier ke Multi-Disiplin” (The Shift in Industry Trends: From Linear to Multi-Disciplinary).

She emphasized that traditional single-track careers have given way to diverse, multi-faceted opportunities.

“We can no longer focus on just one field. Flexibility and a commitment to lifelong learning are now essential if FEB UB graduates want to be active players in the industry, not just spectators,” she added.

Mastering Personal Branding on LinkedIn

The highlight of the seminar was a session led by Erlin Kurniawati from ParagonCorp, who delivered practical guidance on “Speak Your Value.” She walked participants through the art of crafting an effective Personal Brand Statement on LinkedIn and building a credible digital professional presence.

“By optimizing your LinkedIn profile, you can create a strong personal brand that makes recruiters from multinational companies take notice,” Erlin explained.

Participants learned several core elements of effective personal branding:

Vision: Defining your professional direction and core values

Unique Value: Identifying the distinctive combination of skills that sets you apart from other candidates

Work Experience & Desired Opportunities: Packaging your portfolio and aligning it with target industries

Dr. Nurul Badriyah expressed hope that the practical takeaways from the seminar would be immediately useful for attendees as they enter or advance in the competitive job market.

“We hope this seminar broadens your perspective and delivers real, actionable benefits as you compete and succeed in the professional world,” she said in closing.
