Malang, en.SERU.co.id – Ahead of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, the Watch Party Aragón GP 2026 brought motorsport fans and communities together to experience the MotoGP racing atmosphere in Malang on Sunday, August 340, 2026. Participants watched the Aragón MotoGP race live on a large screen in an atmosphere resembling a race weekend.
Vice Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 and President Director of MGPA, Ananda Mikola, said the enthusiasm of MotoGP fans was visible at the Watch Party Aragón GP 2026. The event brought the MotoGP atmosphere closer to fans in various regions before they come directly to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
“Watching MotoGP together certainly provides a different experience. There is interaction, discussion and spirit that is felt together with fellow fans. We chose Malang because its motorsport community and young people are very active, in line with the high interest from East Java, NTB and Bali. These three regions are the areas with the largest ticket sales for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 nationally,” Ananda said on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Presence of Indonesian Talents Expands MotoGP Fans in the Regions
According to Ananda, the expanding base of MotoGP fans in various regions also strengthens Indonesia’s motorsport ecosystem. This is especially so with the increasing number of national talents appearing in world championships.
“For us, MotoGP is not just about the race weekend. The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit must become part of an ecosystem that brings together fans, communities and Indonesian talents. The presence of Mario Suryo Aji and Veda Ega Pratama shows that we have talents who deserve a stage. This is the spirit that we want to continue growing,” added the older brother of Moreno Soeprapto.
Later, the MotoGP class will be contested by 24 riders, Moto2 by around 28 riders, and Moto3 by 28 riders. This includes Indonesia with local heroes Mario Suryo Aji and Veda Ega Pratama, while also inspiring the birth of new talents in Indonesian motorsport. Support from the public and communities in various regions is an important part of maintaining that spirit.
“We are optimistic that the presence of Mario Suryo Aji in Moto2 and Veda Ega Pratama in Moto3 will also add color to the journey of Indonesian motorsport on the world stage. The careers of both are a source of pride for fans in the homeland, while also showing that Indonesian riders have the opportunity to compete at the international level,” he stated.
Spirit of Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026
Not merely watching the race together, the activity was filled with a convoy involving communities around Malang City. It carried the spirit of Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 closer to the public before they watch the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia directly at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on 9–11 October 2026.
The Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 series involved 120 participants from seven communities. These included Honda ADV Indonesia Malang Raya Chapter, PCX Independent Malang, Vario Vaganza, SST (StyloSatSet), Stylo Batu Community, Suka Suka Society and HVC Malang.
Also, present were Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat, Priority Banking Manager of BRI Malang Hanny Sisca, and MotoGP observer Lucy Wiryono. The Watch Party Aragón GP 2026 was held with the support of Pertamina, BRI and BSI, as well as SPOTV as the official broadcaster of MotoGP.

Malang Mayor Appreciates Watch Party Aragón GP 2026
Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat welcomed the organization of the Watch Party Aragón GP 2026 positively as a space for communities and the younger generation to gather through sport. Greater Malang is known for its 3B, namely bal-balan (football), band-bandan (music bands) and balapan (racing).
“The enthusiasm of the Malang public for sport and automotive is quite high. A Watch Party like this becomes an attractive space for communities to gather, enjoy the match together, and at the same time build positive interaction among fans. We welcome activities that can provide positive experiences and activities for the public,” Wahyu said.
As part of the MotoGP 2026 Watch Party roadshow, the Malang City Government is committed to helping make the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 a success. The Malang Mayor even plans to watch the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia directly at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on 9–11 October 2026.
“I am confident that Malang residents will flock to support and watch directly in Mandalika. God willing, I will also be present to fulfil the direct invitation from the organizers,” he concluded.

The organization of MotoGP generated a national economic impact of Rp4.96 trillion based on a study by LETMI ITB. This covers tourism activities, local economic circulation and job creation.
