Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – The Indonesian government has launched a nationwide recruitment drive for 30,000 positions as Merah Putih Village and Sub-district Cooperative Managers.

Registration opened on April 15 and will run until April 24, 2026, through the official website of the National Selection Committee for the Best and Fastest Results Human Resources Program. All selected candidates will be hired under fixed-term work agreements (PKWT) and placed under state-owned enterprises in the food sector.

Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan said the recruitment is a direct follow-up to Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2025, which prioritizes accelerating village-based economic development. He stressed that strengthening institutions at the grassroots level requires competent personnel to serve as the driving force of the people’s economy.

Villages and coastal areas are vital foundations for national economic resilience. That is why the presence of professional personnel at the local level is crucial to ensure these programs run effectively, modernly, and sustainably,” Zulhas said, as quoted from the Kemenkopangan website on Friday (April 17, 2026).

In the first phase, the government has opened a total of 35,476 positions. Of these, 30,000 are allocated for Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative Managers, who will work under PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. The remaining 5,476 positions are for managers of Merah Putih Fishermen’s Villages and will be placed under PT Agrinas Jaladri Nusantara.

The selection process is open to graduates of D-III, D-IV, and S-1 programs from all academic disciplines. General requirements include:

  • Maximum age of 35 years
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Fulfillment of administrative and competency qualifications

The entire selection follows a strict merit-based system, emphasizing transparency, objectivity, and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Zulhas emphasized that the process is completely free of charge. “There are no special pathways or favoritism. Any promise of passing in exchange for money or favors is fraud. Official information will only be provided through the National Selection Committee’s authorized channels,” he said.

All positions are filled under the Perjanjian Kerja Waktu Tertentu (PKWT) scheme — a fixed-term employment contract regulated by Government Regulation No. 35 of 2021. PKWT contracts can last up to five years, including extensions, and are typically used for temporary, project-based, or newly established work.

Despite their contractual status, PKWT employees are fully protected by law and entitled to standard wages, social security, compensation payments, annual leave, and rest periods. (aan/rhd)
