Jember, en.SERU.co.id – The Jember Regency Government invites tourists to enjoy the Eid al-Fitr holiday in Jember, offering everything from adrenaline-pumping adventures to coastal culinary packages. The Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism Office (Disporabudpar) of Jember Regency has completed preparations to welcome the expected surge in visitors during the 2026 Eid holiday period.

Head of Disporabudpar Jember, Bobby Arie Sandy, explained that Jember boasts a complete range of natural landscapes, rich history, and innovative culinary services. In the northern area, the slopes of Mount Argopuro stand out with their pristine scenery and historical educational value through ancient archaeological remains.

“Our nature is incredibly diverse. On the Argopuro slopes, beyond natural tourism, there’s the thrilling experience of the Gunung Gambir tea plantation. It’s perfect for visitors wanting to try camping,” Bobby enthusiastically shared on Sunday (March 15, 2026).

Adrenaline and Educational Attractions

For thrill-seekers, Bobby recommends canyoneering activities in the Klungkung area (Sukorambi District) and Andongrejo (Tempurejo District). These spots are predicted to become hot new favorites for adrenaline junkies.

“We also offer educational tours on making traditional Jember cigars, with packages around Rp100,000 per person (minimum 10 people). Plus, there’s a historic coffee and cocoa research center dating back to the Dutch era. Visitors can discover unique innovations, such as beauty soaps made from chocolate,” he added.

The tombs of prominent figures like Habib Sholeh and Mbah Shiddiq are expected to remain major destinations for thousands of pilgrims.

In the city center, Jember Mini Zoo features a new collection with wide play areas ideal for families.

“The latest additions include tigers and lions,” Bobby added.

On the southern coast, Watu Ulo Beach and Papuma Beach are gearing up for visitor increases of up to 500 percent. To prevent unfair pricing practices (“nuthuk”), the office has collaborated with local MSMEs to launch the Transparent Seafood Culinary Package.

“We want to ensure tourists have the best experience. Individual packages start at Rp40,000, while group packages (for 4 people) are around Rp180,000. We’ve organized the stalls so visitors can enjoy their meals while watching the waves crash directly,” Bobby emphasized.

Tourists are advised to follow directions from on-site personnel, including TNI (military), Polri (police), transportation officials, Satpol PP (civil service police), and BPBD (disaster management agency). This is crucial due to potential traffic diversions and site regulations to maintain safety and order during the Eid holiday. (sgt/rhd)
