UIBU Distributes Aid and Holds Collective Iftar with Disaster-Affected Residents in Aceh Tamiang

Aceh Tamiang, en.SERU.co.id – Universitas Insan Budi Utomo (UIBU) distributed assistance and held a joint iftar (breaking the fast) with residents affected by disaster in Desa Lubuk Sidup, Aceh Tamiang Regency, during the second week of March 2026.

Rector of UIBU, Dr. Nurcholis Sunuyekon MSi, stated that concern for the community is a core value continuously upheld by UIBU. According to him, the university not only fulfills its educational function but also strives to be present and provide benefits to society.

“UIBU is committed to fostering empathy and delivering benefits to the community. This aid is part of the efforts by the UIBU academic community—including students, lecturers, and alumni—to be present and assist residents facing calamity,” said the Rector, affectionately known as Sam Rektor.

The aid distribution was carried out through UIBU’s alumni network in the area. The assistance included basic necessities such as staple foods (sembako) and school supplies for children, including books and stationery. In addition to handing over the aid, the event featured a shared iftar with local residents.

The activity was attended by hundreds of residents and took place in an atmosphere of togetherness. Local residents expressed gratitude for the attention and support provided to those impacted by the disaster.
