Jakarta, en.SERU.co.id – Bank Indonesia (BI) has officially launched its annual new banknote exchange service for Lebaran 2026 under the Semarak Rupiah Ramadhan dan Berkah Idul Fitri (SERAMBI) program. The initiative allows the public to obtain fresh rupiah notes in an orderly manner through the PINTAR BI online application.
The first exchange period will run from 18 to 27 February 2026 with limited daily quotas.
Ramdan Denny Prakoso, Executive Director of BI’s Communication Department, announced on Friday, 13 February 2026, that the service will be available at 2,883 locations, providing a total of 8,755 exchange points in partnership with banks across Indonesia.
Registration for residents of Java opens on Friday, 13 February 2026 at 14:00 WIB, while those outside Java can begin registering on Saturday, 14 February 2026 at 08:00 WIB. All bookings must be made online via the PINTAR BI platform until quotas are filled.
Rp8.6 Trillion Allocated
To ensure smooth operations this year, BI has prepared Rp8.6 trillion exclusively for the exchange program. Each individual may exchange up to Rp5.3 million per booking.
Exchanges can be conducted through multiple channels:
- Mobile cash vans (kas keliling)
- Participating commercial bank branches
- Integrated exchange services at strategic locations
In the Greater Jakarta area, integrated exchange services are scheduled for 12–15 March 2026 at the GBK Basketball Hall.
How to Exchange New Banknotes via PINTAR BI Follow these steps to secure your exchange slot:
- Visit the official PINTAR website at pintar.bi.go.id.
- Select the menu “Penukaran Uang Rupiah Melalui Kas Keliling” and fill in your details using your Indonesian ID card (KTP).
- Choose your preferred province, exchange location, and available date/time slot.
- Confirm your order. The maximum package value is Rp5.3 million, with the following denomination limits:
- Rp50,000: maximum 50 notes
- Rp20,000: maximum 20 notes
- Rp10,000: maximum 100 notes
- Rp5,000: maximum 100 notes
- Rp2,000: maximum 100 notes
- Rp1,000: maximum 100 notes
- Download or print your booking confirmation.
- Arrive at the selected location on the scheduled date and time, bringing your KTP and the exact amount of old banknotes to exchange.
Important Notes
- Online registration is mandatory. Walk-ins will not be accommodated.
- Once a date’s quota is full, that slot will no longer be available.
- If you miss the first period, additional exchange periods will be announced later.
By requiring advance online booking, BI aims to prevent long queues and ensure fair access to new banknotes ahead of the Idul Fitri celebrations. Residents are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred dates and locations. (aan/rhd)
